Called AgWorkers Insurance for short, Texas-based Agricultural Workers Mutual has been in business since 1948. They are a membership-based mutual insurance company with eligibility rules similar to many fraternal benefit societies.
In order to become a member and take out a 12-month policy from AgWorkers, you must meet one of the following requirements:
- Have an agricultural or related degree, including veterinary science, life science, of family consumer science

AgWorkers Car Insurance Policies
There is not a lot in the way of detail on the AgWorker’s website in terms of policies, but the company appears to offer a standard package auto policy. This includes typical coverage options such as liability coverage, comprehensive coverage and collision coverage, as well as rental reimbursement, roadside assistance, and more. Other coverage options policyholders can take advantage of include medical payments and personal injury protection, and uninsured motorist coverage.
Since the company only writes auto insurance, there are no discounts available for other policies, although they likely have a multi-car discount. Again, information on the website is limited, and visitors are instructed to get a quote for more information.
Rates
There is an online option to obtain a quote on the AgWorkers website, but it requires a great deal of personal information, including providing your eligibility status. As a result, we were unable to obtain numbers or information regarding an average rate.
Rates from a company like AgWorkers do not usually compete with major insurers, but the added value of dividends and other membership benefits often make up the difference. If you want to know how much you need to pay for their insurance product, you can request a quote.
Claims
Agricultural Workers Mutual does not offer an online option for reporting claims, but a toll-free number is provided for policyholders. The website does not say whether or not the line is available 24/7 to take customer calls, but it is a safe bet to call during regular business hours.
Claims information is limited; the website simply gives basic instructions as to what should be done in the event of an accident. Further information is available by calling the toll-free line, so you can only know their claims handling system once you file a claim.

Ratings and Consumer Reviews
Agricultural Workers Mutual Auto Insurance has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and there are no complaints on file in the past three years according to consumer reports.
The company has 66 reviews on its Facebook page, with an overall 4.8-star rating. 62 of the reviews are five-star, and the overall impression is of a company with excellent customer service that prioritizes client satisfaction.
Overall, this company does appear to enjoy a good reputation within its limited market of agricultural car insurance.
The Bottom Line
Agricultural Workers Mutual appears to provide good service to its customers, and it might be a good choice if you are eligible for membership. Without more information on rates and products, however, it’s hard to say how they stack up in terms of value. Before deciding on any one company, though, it is always a good idea to do some comparison shopping and browse quotes from multiple auto insurance providers.
